No layoffs at Monarch Casino Resort Spa in Black Hawk

Monarch Casino Resort Spa looks forward to hiring hundreds of hospitality workers when new spa, hotel and restaurants open

Monarch Casino Resort Spa announced this week that it will not lay off any current Team Members and will continue health insurance coverage for its employees while they’re on furlough due to the ordered temporary closure from the State of Colorado.

Monarch is taking this step to help mitigate Team Members’ financial impact as much as possible and help them care for themselves and their families. Normal health insurance contributions will be deducted over time when Team Members return to work. Monarch Casino Resort Spa paid Team Members for the first two weeks of the mandatory closure. Most Team Members have been furloughed and are able to use any accrued Paid Time Off (PTO) to maintain their income.

Monarch Casino continues to plan for the future and is looking forward to the opening of its 516 room, 4-star hotel and world-class spa resort which will include 4 all-new restaurants, expanded gaming floor, and meeting rooms as soon as possible.

“With the expansion of Colorado’s premier gaming resort destination on the horizon, Monarch Casino is developing a comprehensive plan to put hundreds of Coloradans back to work,” said COO David Farahi. “We look forward to welcoming new Team Members, especially those who are eager to work in our brand new state-of-the-art kitchens.  The four restaurant offerings within our new resort, will offer great opportunities for career development. As soon as we get back to work, we will help Colorado get back to work. ”

While Monarch is excited to bring more Team Members aboard, Monarch Casino Resort Spa remains committed to working with its local, regional and statewide partners to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 first. Monarch Casino believes in the resilience and fortitude of its Team Members and of Coloradans and we will emerge from this challenge stronger together.
