Foundation of Monarch Casino's new hotel is taking shape

Photos and videos of concrete work on the 23-story hotel show the next step in the construction process

Construction crews are clipping along as they build the next phase of Black Hawk's future: the new 23-story hotel and spa at Monarch Casino Resort.

Crew poured concrete over the last few days. Their work will form the base of the hotel and spa building, between the new parking garage and the current casino. By the numbers, the concrete work involved:

  • 62 Contractors/Consultants
  • 1 Forklift
  • 2 Tower Cranes
  • 3 Skid Steers
  • 1 Backhoe
  • 1 Concrete Boom Pump

That's a lot of activity for the mountain town of Black Hawk, located just 45 minutes from downtown Denver in Clear Creek Canyon above Golden!

The new construction includes approximately 500 guest rooms and suites, an upscale spa and pool facility, a total of four restaurants and several new bars. From the beautiful steakhouse restaurant, to the rooftop pool, to the retail space, this resort is sure to rival any major US casino property.

The casino has also undergone a recent renovation, including construction of a nine-story parking structure with state-of-the-art lighting. When coupled with valet parking spaces, the property has room for more than 1,500 vehicles.

Monarch Casino Black Hawk is hiring new Team Members to staff all of the newly-created positions. Excellent job opportunities are open to get in on the ground floor, with more than 1,000 openings in spa, food and valet services during the next two years.

In addition, the resort will also be hiring professionals in finance, engineering, and management. Job seekers are encouraged to apply now for current openings. The company offers competitive, comprehensive benefits packages and is just a 45-minute drive from downtown Denver.
